10 reasons why customer feedback is important to us and should be to you
At SwitchboardFREE we are always listening to what our customers have to say because at the end of the day that is the reason why we are here, our customers. Some of our biggest improvements that we have made to our business have come from customer feedback and often they are things we would never have thought of because we are too close to our products and services.
Below are ten reasons why we like to listen to what our customers have to say and why we think you should be listening to your customers too:
1 – Your customers are your company
Your customers are the life blood of your company. Without them your business is going to go nowhere so it is important to always keep them happy and coming back for more.
2 – Identify issues with your product
No product is perfect and no matter how much testing you do as a company something is always going to slip through the gaps. We can guarantee that your customers are going to catch all of the little mistakes that you miss so its important to find out what they are.
3 – Who exactly is your target audience?
Who are you building your product or service for? You might think that your product is being used mainly by 30-40 year old business people but maybe for some reason it is popular to the 20-30 year old university graduates. You are never going to know that unless you open some kind of dialogue with your customers and once you do know that you can tweak your product/service and start sending it in the right direction.
4 – What can you improve?
What about your business is weaker than the rest and where can you best spend your time to do improvements? No one knows this better than you’re customers so make sure you give them the chance to tell you.
5 – Stop waisting money on things people don’t want
There are bound to be aspects of your product or service that simply doesn’t get the use that other parts of your product does. Is it time to stop developing for that aspect or maybe to scrap it all together. Customer feedback is going to let you know.
6 – Improve relations with your customers
No matter your customers, if you feel like some distant entity that doesn’t have any relation with them then they aren’t going to want to have anything to do with you. Open up a line of communication and give them a voice.
7 – Gain more customers
If you build a product with customer feedback then its more likely to be in a good position to attract new customers. A stronger product and a happier user base makes something that is easier to market and also something that customers will tell their friends about.
8 – Keep your feet on the ground
It’s easy to let your ego run away with you as a business and start working on things that are simply vanity projects and not actually something your customers want. Utilise customer feedback to find out if your new projects are worth it.
9 – Make your customers feel important and involved
Your customers have egos too and they like to be fed every now and then. Give your customers a voice and make them feel as though they have a say in your business and they are going to get a feeling of personal pride from using your product/service and they are going to want to show it off to their friends.
10 – Increase your profits
At the end of the day a business is all about increasing profits and if you work with your customers that is what’s going to happen. Give them what they want and improve your business accordingly and you are going to see an increase in your profits.
So basically we recommend that you talk to your customers. They are bound to have a lot to say and as the old saying goes, ‘Knowledge is Power’; so empower your business by listening to your customers.
